On our morning game drive we found a huge herd of elephants. They were very thirsty and headed to a small waterhole where they splashed, drank and sprayed water over themselves. Feeling inspired, I taught a lunchtime art class, where we looked at the shapes of the elephants and contrasting shadows.

On a hot day with the sun blazing, most animals like to find some shade. In the case of this leopard, we found him resting amongst the high branches of a marula tree. An exciting find! Although this young leopard was in no hurry to move around, giving us a purrrfect opportunity to draw him.

A midday art lesson, using pencils to sketch ourselves and our favorite animal. The lion was a very popular choice!

After seeing her first hyena cub and falling in love with the cuteness, I taught little Sophie more about them these under-rated animals in a colourful (and messy) art class.
