A Pod of Hippo

During my month in Botswana, I saw many hippos, swimming, grazing, fighting, sleeping… every behaviour you can imagine. It was incredible seeing them in the wild. One of my favourite moments came one afternoon after a short game drive, when we found a whole pod happily entertaining us in the water. It’s always tricky to count how many hippos are in a pod at any one time; they love slipping beneath the surface just as you think you’ve got the number right. So, to be safe… I usually just add one more!
