Safari-Inspired Wildlife Education & Engagement

Interactive, story-led experiences that help children connect emotionally with the natural world

I Am Wild at Art creates immersive, visually driven education and engagement experiences that bring wildlife stories to life for young audiences. Through hands-on activities, storytelling, and creative exploration, children are encouraged not just to learn about animals — but to care about them.

A real-world foundation in wildlife storytelling

This work is led by Kirsten, a former professional safari guide in South Africa, where communicating complex ecological ideas to diverse audiences was central to daily life. Translating real wildlife encounters into engaging, accessible stories is at the heart of everything created through I Am Wild at Art.

Since returning to the UK, Kirsten has:

  • Deliver curriculum-aligned education programmes

  • Support care, interpretation and engagement for exotic animals

  • Create safari-inspired learning experiences that inspire curiosity and care in young audiences

How it works

  1. Visual exploration: images, worksheets, activities that make abstract ideas tangible

  2. Hands-on learning: materials, drawing, artifacts and role-play that deepen understanding

  3. Adaptable formats: customisable for workshops, resource packs, and outreach content

More than workshops

While many examples shown here are school-based, the core approach is highly adaptable and designed to support a wide range of conservation and engagement contexts, including:

  • Conservation education programmes – deepens understanding while supporting learning outcomes

  • Campaign engagement and outreach – creates emotionally resonant visuals that amplify messaging

  • Partner-facing educational resources – ready-to-use materials that enhance collaborative programmes

  • Interactive content for young audiences – supports engagement beyond the classroom

  • Creative interpretation supporting exhibitions or events – adds depth and context to in-person experiences

Who I am, and why it matters

I’m Kirsten, the founder of I Am Wild at Art and a former professional safari guide in South Africa. Communicating the magic of wildlife to diverse audiences was central to my guiding work, and today I bring that same real-world interpretation into education and engagement in the UK.

I design experiences that go beyond facts, using story, creativity, and hands-on exploration to build empathy, curiosity, and care for nature. I believe conservation begins with connection — when children feel connected to wildlife, they are more likely to value and protect it.

This means not only explaining what animals and ecosystems are, but helping learners feel their stories.
